BoatingThere are more than 100 rivers and lakes in Plumas County, offering plenty of opportunity to canoe and kayak, challenge the rapids, or cut the wake behind a ski boat. Large lakes such as Almanor, Bucks and Frenchman are popular spots to powerboat and jet ski. The average summer water temperature at Lake Almanor is a pleasant 75 degrees, making it ideal for all kinds of water sports, from windsurfing to sailing and waterskiing. The glassy surface of Lake Davis draws canoers out every day, and the Feather River offers whitewater excursions with varying degrees of difficulty. Group rafting tours are available through a number of local businesses or Grizzly’s Sierra Quest program. |
